Information on Brazil National Football Team World Cup tickets

Brazil is currently the record title holder in world cup history. They have never been absent from the tournament as well since the first edition. No wonder that there is no world cup without Brazil in it. The world always expects their magical performance and stars in each and every edition.

Overall Campaign

Brazil have clinched the title five times so far, which is more than any other teams in the world. Their best results are in 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994 and 2002. Their first three titles were won by Pele and Co. They trashed the host Sweden 5-2 in 1958. Pele himself scored a brace in the final. Then in following edition, Selecao stomped Czechoslovakia 3-1 but he was injured and missed the final. In 1970, the Santos legend was back in the summit and scored an opener when Brazil hammered Italy 4-1. In USA 1994, it was the era of Romario and Bebeto plus Dunga who lifted the trophy after knocking out Italy again but this time they had to go through a penalty shootout. Their last triumph was in Japan-Korea 2002. They had no difficulty in edging out Belgium, England and Turkey at the knock out stage before crushing Germany 2-0. Ronaldo netted a brace to bring their fifth title home. However, on two occasions, Selecao lost the game in the final. They were in 1950 and 1998 when Uruguay and France ruined their world cup campaign.

Selecao’s worst campaign probably was in 1966. They came as the defending champions but were unable to progress from the group stage after only sealing a win against Bulgaria but losing twice to Hungary and Portugal.

Iconic Moments

Brazil’s most notable one was the 1958 final. Back then they were not the favorite and had to take on the host Sweden. Vicente Feola’s men had to prove that their attractive Jogo bonito football could also win the title, not only for entertainment. They were struck at first by Niels Liedholm’s early lead but it was not long till Vava equalised. After that, they were unstoppable, Vava completed his brace followed by Pele who also scored a brace and Mario Zagalo. Sweden could only respond once through Simonsson.

Meanwhile, their least memorable games are the 1950 final when their dream to win the title in front of their own fans was crushing by Uruguay as they were beaten 1-2, and the 2014 semi final when they were humiliated by Germany 1-7.

Top Figures

Brazil is the land of football talents. So there are plenty of great players in the team from each era. Yet, not everyone has the luxury of winning the world cup. These players are some of the lucky ones to win the cup such as Pele, Vava, Didi, Mario Zagalo, Romario, Bebeto, Dunga, Taffarel, Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, Cafu,  Rivaldo and Ronaldinho. On the managerial side, Vicente Feola, Aymore Moreira, Mario Zagalo, Carlos Alberto Pareira and Luis Felipe Scolari are the distinguished figures who led Selecao to their glorious world cup campaign.
