Information on Germany National Football Team World Cup tickets

Germany is the most successful European team in world cup history. They have reached eight finals, and won four of them. Der Panzer have built their reputation as the elite team since the early days of the World Cup. They barely fail to progress from the group stage in every edition.

Overall Campaign

Germany have always appeared in each world cup edition except in 1930 and 1950 when they were not invited and banned from entering the tournament. They have managed to lift the trophy four times. Die Mannschaft won the first title in 1954. In the final which was famous for the Miracle of Bern, Sepp Herberger’s men came from behind against the favorite Hungary and thumped the Magyar side 3-2. Their next one came in 1974 when they were the host. Germany crushed another favorite, Netherlands 2-1. Meanwhile, on the next two occasions, 1990 and 2014, they beat Argentina led by their two greatest footballer, Diego Maradona in 1990 and Lionel Messi in 2014, with an identical score,1-0. Unfortunately, in the other four finals, they were unable to capitalise their ambition. In 1966, Franz Beckenbauer and Co were edged out by England 2-4, then suffering a loss in two consecutive finals in 1980s, against Italy in the summit of 1982 and Argentina in 1986. Another final loss was in 2002 when Ronaldinho and Co dismantled them 2-0.

Their worst campaigns were in 1938 and 2018 when Germany were unable to advance from the group stage.

Iconic Moments

Der Panzer’s iconic moments are in 1954 and 2014 finals. Back then in Switzerland 1954, Germany had met Hungary before at the group stage and lost 3-8. Yet, in the final, the story ended differently as Germany could came from behind after conceding earlier by Ferenc Puskas’s and Czibor’s goal. Die Mannschaft replied quickly through Morlock’s and Helmut Rahn’s brace. In 2014, it was more of noteworthy since they won it on the mythical South American soil, the first ever for any team, and defeated Messi’s Argentina 1-0 after extra time. Mario Gotze stroke the ball in the six yard box into the back of the net.

Their most humiliating moment was the 0-2 loss against South Korea on matchday three in Russia 2018. Such defeat was the second one at the group stage and certainly cost their chance to progress for the first time since France 1938.

Top Figures

Germany is one example of a team which can constantly produce talents from their youth development systems for the sake of consistency in the world cup campaign. It can be seen from the lines of key figures from Fritz Walter and Helmut Rahn, followed by Franz Beckenbauer and Gerd Muller, Lothar Matthaeus and Juergen Klinsmann to Thomas Muller and Manuel Neuer. Such can be seen on the managerial side too from the likes of Sepp Herberger, Helmut Schoen, Franz Beckenbauer and Joachim Loew.
