Amiens Sporting Club comes from the city of Amiens in north-eastern France. Often the centre of battle, the city has been repeatedly occupied by both sides of both World Wars. The club itself was formed in 1901 and plays its football in France’s top division.
Made a professional club again in 1998 after many years of amatuer football, Amiens Sporting Club played in Ligue 2 for much of the early 21st century and even made the final of the Coupe de France in 2001, losing to RC Strasbourg in a penalty shootout.
Les Licornes, named after the Unicorns on their crest, made a return to top-flight French football in 2017 after a dramatic, last-minute winning goal over Reims secured 2nd place and automatic promotion. Consolidating their position in Ligue 1 now, Amiens is a great place to watch premier French football. Compare ticket prices for the Stade de la Licorne now with us.
