From the second largest city in the region of Lombardy, Brescia Calcio or Brescia, was formed in 1911 and holds the record for the most seasons in Italy’s second division, Serie B.
With its traditional colours of light blue and white, the home shirt of Brescia has featured a white V-shape on the front for a number of years. The club play their games at the Stadio Mario Rigamonti, named after a defender for the Grande Torino side, born in Brescia, who died in the Superga air disaster of 1949.
With FIFA World Player of the Year, Roberto Baggio, joining Brescia in 2000, this became the most successful era of the club’s history, staying in Serie A for a record four consecutive seasons. However, after Baggio retired in 2004, Brescia returned to Serie B and were not seen in Serie A again for 5 years.
