Dijon Football Côte d’Or or DFCO are a football club from the city famous for its mustard in eastern France. DFCO was formed in 1998 after a merger of the city’s two biggest clubs Cercle Sportif Laïque Dijonnais and Dijon FC after it was agreed the city needed a larger force to compete on the national stage.

After finishing third in Ligue 2 in the 2010-11 season, the city got its wish with a team in the top division of France for the first time. Dijon were promoted to Ligue 1 but unfortunately a number of poor results towards the end of the season meant Dijon were forced to battle in Ligue 2 again.
With a new club president and coach, DFCO brought Ligue 1 football back to the Stade Gaston Gérard in 2017. After an 18th placed finish last season, Dijon were forced into a relegation playoff against RC Lens where they came out victorious to guarantee more top division football for the club.
