Qatar Men’s National Footall team is the new rising team in Asia in the past few years. Qatar has been more well known as the dark horse in the region so far. They managed to eliminate Colombia and Egypt at the preliminary round to accompany Spain to progress to the quarter final. Unfortunately, they were beaten 0-2 by Poland. Another memorable years were surely within 2019 and 2021. In Asian Cup 2019, Felix Sanchez’s men stunned their rival after clinching AFC Asian Cup title by trashing Japan 3-1 in the summit after previously edging out Iraq, South Korea and the host UEA at the knock out stages. Meanwhile, in 2021, they were able to advance to the semi final in CONCACAF Gold Cup. Almoez Ali eased past El Salvador at the last eight before USA halted them to go through the final. 

Important Figures 

In Qatari football, two notable men at the helm of the team, Evaristo de Macedo and Felix Sanchez, have brought the team elevate to the next level. The former led Mubarak Mustafa, Mahmoud Soufi and Co to reach quarter final in the Olympic Games while the latter guided Hasan Al-Haydos, Almoez Ali and his teammates to the triumphant glory in Asian Cup plus Gold Cup.
